At first glance, it seems trivial. We see a picture of apple halves neatly arranged in a grid and a simple question: how many apples are there in the picture? Most people answer immediately without thinking much about it. The problem is that after a while we realize that several answers are possible, and each group is convinced that they have the right answer.
It’s a classic online quiz that starts innocently and unknowingly and sparks heated discussion in the comments. Some number the halves, others fold them into whole fruits, and still others analyze the results like detectives. And that’s exactly why this riddle works so well online.
A simple image, but with a lot of meaning.
