I Still Check My Backyard Camera Every Night After What Happened at 3:11 AM

I never thought I would become the kind of person who checks the security cameras before going to bed.

But after what happened one night, it’s become a habit.

It was around 3:11 AM when I suddenly woke up.

At first, I couldn’t figure out why.

The house was completely silent.

I stayed in bed for a few seconds, listening.

Then I heard a noise coming from the backyard.

It sounded like something had fallen near the shed.

I remember looking at the clock again.

3:11 AM.

I didn’t want to go downstairs, so I grabbed my phone and opened the security-camera app.

The backyard camera showed the usual dark view.

The patio.

The fence.

The shed.

Everything looked normal.

Then I noticed something near the tree.

I zoomed in.

There was someone standing there.

My first thought was that it was a shadow.

I watched the screen for several seconds.

The figure didn’t move.

I turned the volume up on my phone and listened.

Nothing.

Then the motion light came on.

For a moment, the entire backyard became visible.

And the figure was gone.

I immediately checked the other camera.

Nothing.

I checked the back door from upstairs.

It was locked.

I told myself there had to be a simple explanation.

Maybe it was a neighbor.

Maybe the camera had picked up a strange shadow.

Maybe I was still half asleep.

But then I noticed something.

The camera had recorded the movement.

I went back through the footage.

At 3:09 AM, the backyard was empty.

At 3:10 AM, something appeared near the tree.

At 3:11 AM, the figure seemed to move toward the house.

And at 3:12 AM…

the camera stopped recording for 18 seconds.

Those 18 seconds were the part that bothered me most.

The next morning, I went outside.

I checked the area around the tree.

There were no footprints.

Nothing looked disturbed.

But near the fence, I found a small black flashlight lying in the grass.

It wasn’t mine.

I picked it up and looked around.

That’s when I noticed that the batteries were still warm.

I honestly didn’t know what to think.

I checked with my neighbors later that day, but nobody knew anything about it.

Since then, I haven’t heard anything unusual.

Nothing has happened.

But I still check the backyard camera every night before I go to sleep.

Because sometimes, when I look at the recording from that night, I still wonder about those missing 18 seconds.
